Shen Yun Performing Arts at The Plaza Theatre

Shen Yun — today's best dance troupe — has finalized this season's schedule of performances connecting several of the United States' most esteemed theaters, which includes the The Plaza Theatre on Sunday 16th February 2025!

Prior to the era of Communism, FIVE MILLENNIA of culture, legends, and arts thrived in each region of China's mainland, and year after year, the New York-founded Shen Yun breathes life into these enduring treasures for all to admire! 2025 is no exception.

Heavenly beings walking across the country. Sprawling grasslands swept by nomadic hordes of Mongols. And the wartime heroism of dauntless warriors. Shen Yun’s annual performances explore the innumerable legends and parables that crossed China’s regimes, imaginatively portraying their fortunes and calamities with principles from Taoist and Buddhist beliefs to round up each story.

The approaching presentation will showcase twenty story sections of unbelievable performances in approximately 2 hours. Classically instructed dancers trimmed in delightfully vibrant costumes will take to the floor, narrating the event’s tales through 17 or 18 elaborate folk dance sequences. Additionally, 2 or 3 vocal and instrumental solos will accentuate these episodes with soaring symphonies — original and traditional alike.

A full-piece orchestra will perform rousing music throughout the event, inventively uniting Chinese and Western instrumentation. In terms of stagecraft, Shen Yun utilizes a high-tech virtual background to project life-like scenes, drawing audiences into the expanse of ancient Chinese civilizations in a spectacular fashion.

For the trip's pit stop in Texas's city of El Paso, the iconic The Plaza Theatre will open as host. Its gorgeous stage, honored by several of the past year’s hottest acts, will set the foundation for the impressive event, enhancing it further with clear sight lines, immaculate light setups, and perfectly balanced acoustics.
